Reiki Holistic Techniques
Reiki, a Japanese healing modality, works wholistically meaning that it heals on all levels - physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual - simultaneously, thereby giving a more complete healing treatment. Reiki comes from two Japanese words Rei (light) and Ki (energy) and is a hands-on modality utilizing the theory of "life force energy". When this energy is low, we are more prone to stress and illness, but when this energy is high, we are more capable of being healthy and happy. Reiki raises life force energy without depleting the practitioner's own energy supply and is, therefore beneficial for both the giver and the receiver. There is no belief or religious faith required and Reiki has been successful on people of all ages and backgrounds. In personal illness where energy is reduced, this energy is like plugging someone into an outlet! The need for medications may be reduced and is a reason why some facilities now offer Reiki prior to surgery. People undergoing the catabolic process (breaking down) of chemotherapy and radiation report feeling better and appreciate the added energy that their body needs to rebuild itself and fight cancer. There are many applications for Reiki, the most important being the intent of the practitioner to help the person for his/her highest good.
