Course Description

 

Myofascial Integration  This introductory level class will cover the theory and anatomy of fascia in order to demonstrate how you can begin to integrate myofascial release techniques into your practice. The concept of whole-body inter-relationships will lead to specific discussions of client evaluation procedures. Myofascial mobilization techniques and basic craniosacral releases will be taught.
Craniosacral Integration 

Expand your knowledge base of the fascial and craniosacral systems. Enhance your sensory perception of the body's subtle clues of fascial restriction and the craniosacral rhythm. The 10-Step craniosacral protocol and specific soft tissue releases will be taught.

Myofascial/Craniosacral Integration in Lower Quarter This course will cover biomechanical evaluation of spinal, pelvic and lower extremity dysfunctions and relate this information to specific symptomology. Myofascial, soft tissue, and craniosacral releases will be taught specific treatments for these dysfunctions. Muscle energy techniques to balance the pelvis will be included.
Myofascial/Craniosacral Integration in Upper Quarter  This course will cover biomechanical evaluation of cervical, TMJ, thoracic, and upper extremity dysfunctions and relate this information to specific symptomology. Myofascial, soft tissue, craniosacral releases and muscle energy techniques will be taught to address treatment for all areas including intraoral releases.
Integration of Myofascial/Craniosacral Releases with Massage Learn which myofascial releases are most effective and how to combine basic Craniosacral with Swedish massage to relax and release your clients in one session.
     
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

In addition to successfully completing all five classes, students enrolled in the Myofascial/Craniosacral Certification Program must also complete: a practicum, a practical exam, and a written exam.

Practicum

  • Treatment- Experience two Craniosacral and Myofascial treatments performed by the instructor.
  • Case Study- Bring in client(s) for 3 treatments. Discuss client's pain, set up treatment plan, treat with instructor observing and assisting.
  • Practice- Proof of 30 clinical hours utilizing the Myofascial/Craniosacral technique. (Students must maintain a log & description of cases.)

Practical Exams

  • Demonstrate proficiency in Craniosacral 10-Step Program (performed on instructor)
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Myofascial Release Techniques (performed on instructor)

Written Exam

  • Administered by Wheaton Myofascial Release
