Christine Wheaton is a licensed physical therapist and massage practitioner, teacher, and founder of Wheaton PT, Myofascial Release and Massage. She has practiced for over 35 years, receiving her B.S. Degree in PT from the State University of NY at Buffalo in 1974. She received her Advanced Master of Science Degree from Northeastern University in 1988 where she did her Master's thesis on TMJ, focused her education on anatomy and biomechanics and taught Kinesiology. She was one of the first PTs in the state of MA to practice Physical Therapy in Dentistry and was a teacher's assistant for Marianno Rocabado, international founder of this specialization in PT.
Recognizing the need for a total body approach, she pursued an education in Myofascial Release and Somato-Emotional Release from John Barnes, Craniosacral Therapy and Visceral Manipulation from the Upledger Institute, Manual therapy from Karltenborn and Paris, Reiki from John Harvey Gray and massage therapy. She has been an instructor for John Barnes for seven years and is well known for her expertise in the Myofascial Release Approach. As a Reiki Master and a descendant of the Oswegan tribe, she is able to to offer holistic healing techniques and incorporate native beliefs and traditions in her work.
